You can export calls and emails to Salesforce without installing the Gong for Salesforce app. This creates tasks in Salesforce for each email or call. This action isn't retroactive - only future calls and emails will create tasks.
To access the Salesforce settings page click your username on the top right hand corner and select your company's settings page. Click Salesforce in the CRM block. Configure exporting calls and emails to Salesforce at the bottom of the page under Export to Salesforce as tasks.

Tasks are created once, immediately after a call is processed in Gong. Tasks for emails may take a little longer as they are created in bulk and based on Salesforce resources available.
Tasks are associated with Account, Contact, Lead, or Opportunity entities as identified by Gong and which existed when the task was created.
To export calls to Salesforce:
-
Ensure that Create Salesforce tasks when calls are processed is selected.
-
Click Update.
Tasks are created in Salesforce as soon as a call is processed in Gong and the relevant Account, Contact, Lead, and Opportunity records are identified by Gong.
To push emails to Salesforce:
Note
This is supported for emails written in the Gong email composer, Google Workspace and Office365.
-
Under Gong captured emails, select the workspaces you want to export emails from.
-
Choose whether to push All Emails to Salesforce, or only Emails Written in Gong, (emails written using the Gong email composer).
Caution
If you select All Emails and you have another app which pushes emails to Salesforce, your Salesforce tasks will be duplicated.
-
Select which team members you want to push emails for. By default no team members are selected and no emails are pushed to Salesforce for the workspace. Click Edit to add or remove team members whose emails should be pushed to Salesforce.
-
In the Add/remove team members dialog, search for the employee name, team or job title you want to push emails to Salesforce for.
-
Click the team members or teams to add them to the list, and click the X to remove them from the list.
-
Click OK to close the dialog. The number of team members should be updated.
-
-
Click UPDATE to save the changes.
Multiple tasks can be created in Salesforce for a single email. For example, a task may be created for up to five email recipients. If an email has more than five recipients, the recipients are noted in the task comments but no task is generated for them.
The email has an activity ID which is stored in the Call Object Identifier displayed in the task. Use this ID to create reports or search for all activities based on a specific email.

Tasks based on emails are created as follows:

A single API call is consumed each time emails are pushed to Salesforce. Salesforce does not provide an exact SLA for how long the synchronization takes, but since bulk calls are asynchronous, assume it can take around 2 hours to update.
