Sometimes, and for totally legitimate reasons, such as when you have an ad hoc call, Gong doesn't show up in your web conference. This article explains how to add Gong to a call at the last minute or after the call has started.
There are 3 ways to add Gong to a call:
-
If the meeting is in your calendar: Add assistant@gong.io to the list of participants. (Recommended because the meeting invite contains rich call information that we'll associate with the call in Gong.)
-
If the meeting is not in your calendar: Use the Schedule button in the homepage, and set the call for later. Go here for details.
-
If a significant amount of time passed since the beginning of the meeting: Use the Schedule button in the homepage, and set the call for now. Go here for details.
Note
Gong will join the call up to 10 minutes after you add the assistant or schedule the call from the homepage.
Both ways are described in more detail below:
-
Outlook:
Invite Gong to the web conference as a participant.
If this method is unsuccessful, use the Forward as an Attachment option to forward the meeting invite to assistant@gong.io. Gong will join and record the call.
-
Other calendar apps:
Email the meeting URL to assistant@gong.io.
Gong joins the call for any web conferencing system your company is set up to use Gong for.
-
Locate and copy the meeting URL in your web conferencing system.
-
On the Gong homepage, click Schedule.
-
Enter the call details:
-
Set the call recording to start Now.
-
Include the URL of the conference call.
-
Add a description or title of the call.
-
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Add the names and email addresses of other invitees so that the call will be connected to an opportunity after cross-checking with your CRM.
-
-
Click Schedule call.
Gong will join the call shortly after.
