We provide AND, OR, and NOT conditional filters to help you slice & dice the deals that match your deal board tabs and forecast categories. We know these can be confusing, so this article aims to help you if you need a little guidance!
Read this section to understand some of the rules around conditional filters.
What matters?
-
The order you create the filters in
-
Where you add the filter from (group level or subgroup level)
-
How you nest groups
Things to know about NOT filters
-
Everything included in a NOT group means that deals shown are essentially the opposite to what's in the group
-
You cannot add a NOT subgroup to a NOT group. (No double negatives!)
-
Add an AND subgroup to show deals that do not match both criteria
-
Add an OR subgroup to show deals that do not match either criteria
Even when you don't add any filters, if you add more than one CRM field value, we use an OR condition.
For example:
The tab/category includes all deals that have opportunity type=new business, opportunity type=renewal, or opportunity type=Upsell.
I.e. deals of all 3 types are included.
Setup needed: Deals that match all values
CRM fields and values: opportunity type=new business and status=open.
Set up:
-
Set the tab name to Open new business.
-
Set the CRM field to the one you use for "deal type", and then choose the value you use for "new business".
-
Click
> AND.
An AND + new CRM field line is added below your first CRM field row, and everything is added to an AND group.
-
Set the second CRM field to the one you use for "status", and then choose the value you use for "open".
All deals that match [opportunity type=new business AND status=open] are shown.
Setup needed: Deals that match any values
CRM fields and values: opportunity type=new business and opportunity type=upsell.
Set up:
-
Set the tab name to New business & upsell.
-
Set the CRM field to the one you use for "deal type", and then choose the value you use for "new business".
-
Click
> OR.
An OR + new CRM field line is added below your first CRM field row, and everything is added to an OR group.
-
Set the second CRM field to the one you use for "deal type", and then choose the value you use for "upsell".
All deals that match [opportunity type=new business] OR [opportunity type=upsell] are shown.
Note
As mentioned above, the same results can be achieved without using conditional filters - simply add more deal type values in the values field.
Setup needed: Deals that match no values
CRM fields and values: opportunity type=new business
Set up:
-
Set the tab name to Everything apart from new business.
-
Set the CRM field to the one you use for "deal type", and then choose the value you use for "new business".
