> **Who can use this**: Tech admin
>
> **Available on**: Any Gong plan

To successfully import calendar meetings and emails, you must:

- Set up either a company wide connection, or a user-by-user connection, and what data you want to give Gong access to, calendar meetings and emails or calendar meetings only.
- Set the company recording settings
- Set the team member’s data capture settings

The person who does the set up in Google must have a Google mailbox. Without a Google mailbox, Gong can't successfully set up email and calendar import.

## **Permissions required by Gong**

Gong requires read-only access to the following elements:

- Calendars: `calendar.readonly`
- Email messages and settings: `gmail.readonly`
- Email address: `userinfo.email`
- Personal info (including personal info made publicly available): `userinfo.profile, openid`
