# Uninstall Gong for Salesforce

> **Who can use this**: Salesforce admin

> **Available on**: Any Gong plan

## Before uninstalling Gong for Salesforce 1.22 or earlier

Before uninstalling, roll back the following changes to page layouts.

1. Go to **Setup > Installed packages** and confirm the **Gong version** is **1.22** or earlier.

2. In the **Object manager** go to **Account object**, click **Page layouts** and then **Account layout**.
3. Go to the **Gong calls** section and remove it by clicking the ![image2019-2-21_12-22-15.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/24883058670605.png) sign, and then **Save** the page layout.

4. If the **Gong Calls** section appears in other **Account page layouts,** repeat this step for these page layouts as well.
5. Repeat the steps for the **Lead** and **Opportunity** objects and page layouts, where Gong Calls exists.

## Before uninstalling any version of Gong for Salesforce

**Uninstalling any version of Gong**

1. Remove all app **Permission sets** that have been assigned.
2. If you cloned the Conversation Lightning Page Records, then make sure to remove them from any assignments and delete them

## Uninstall Gong for Salesforce

1. Go to **Setup** > **Installed packages** and click the **Uninstall** link.

2. The **Uninstall wizard** starts with a warning about the impact of this operation.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the **Uninstalling a Package** page and select **Do not save a copy of this package's data after uninstall**.

Select **Yes, I want to uninstall this package and permanently delete all associated components**, and then click **Uninstall**.

4. If you missed page layouts when cleaning, you might get the following error:

If this happens, refer to the **Uninstalling Gong for Salesforce 1.22 or earlier** section above and review the steps to remove the Gong Calls section in your page layouts.
5. As soon as the package is uninstalled, you'll get a **Package "Gong for Salesforce 1.xx” Uninstall Successful** notification.

Go to **Setup > Installed Packages**, and click **Del** next to the **Gong for Salesforce app** in the **Uninstalled Packages** pane.

You're now ready to install the latest version of the Gong for Salesforce app.
