# Text widget

## What’s a text widget

Text widgets add context and clarity to dashboards. Use them to:

- Explain, highlight, and guide team members beyond the raw numbers.
- Divide the dashboards into sections.

## Adding a text widget

> Your profile must include the relevant [permission](/v1/docs/revenue-analytics-permissions) to create and manage widgets to dashboards

**To add a text widget:**

1. Select your dashboard, click **+New widge**t and select **Text** from the gallery.

2. A new widget shows up in your dashboard. Add your text and format it as you like using the rich text editor options.

3. Click ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(750).png) when you’re done.
4. Click ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/More_DS.png)> **Delete widget** to remove the widget from the dashboard.
