# Take notes during a call

> **Who can use this**: Any team member
>
> **Available on**: Any Gong plan

With Gong recording your calls, you can focus on the conversation without having to take notes. For example, Gong automatically picks up [points of interest](/v1/docs/points-of-interest-in-a-call) in a call so you see what questions were raised. [Trackers](/v1/docs/trackers-overview) automatically detect concepts and phrases that you may have missed in the original conversation.

That said, if you want to take notes in real-time, you can do this with the in-app notepad. If the call is pushed as a Task to Salesforce, these notes will be pushed with the call.

### How to take notes

1. While on a call that’s being recorded, go to the homepage and locate the live call in the **Conversations** widget.
2. Click **Take notes**.

The notepad opens to the right of your screen.
3. Click **Post Note** when you've finished.

Your note is timestamped and appears in the comments section of the call. Anyone how has access to the call will be able to see the note.

> [!TIP]
> **Tip:**If your company is using the native Zoom recorder, use the [Gong app for Zoom](/v1/docs/gong-app-for-zoom) to take notes, collaborate with colleagues during the call, and more.

Any team member can access this feature if they have the required permissions.

Access to this feature depends on your [assigned seat](/v1/docs/plans-and-seats).
