# Smart trackers

In September 2025, Gong introduced a new type of [smart tracker](/v1/docs/understanding-ai-tracker) builder, which is now question-based by default. Question-based smart trackers are easier to set up and don't require a minimum call volume. They provide faster, more accurate insights into your conversations.

#### What’s changed?

- Smart tracker now refers to the [new question-based smart tracker](/v1/docs/create-and-manage-custom-smart-trackers).
- The legacy smart tracker is still available, and now called [example-based smart tracker](/v1/docs/create-and-manage-example-based-smart-trackers). These remain limited to companies with at least 500 calls.
- You can have up to 20 question-based smart trackers published at a time. When you go to publish a tracker, you’ll see how many you still have available.

### How to find smart trackers

> **Where to go:**Admin center > Agent studio

1. Hover over **AI Tracker**and click **Settings**.
2. On the **AI Tracker** settings page, click **+ Create tracker** and select **Smart tracker**.
3. If you want to create an example-based smart tracker: At the bottom of the page, click **Example-based builder**.
