# Setup requirements

> **Who can use this**: Tech admin and Salesforce admin
> 
> **Available on**: Any Gong plan

Before setting up the integration:

- Enable API access in Salesforce. If API access is not enabled, you won’t be able to connect Gong to Salesforce.
- Set up an integration user with the following configuration:
  - If you use multiple currencies, set the integration user’s personal currency to match the corporate currency
  - If you use opportunity teams, splits, or products, give the integration user access to these and any related objects
  - Give the integration user either a Salesforce license or a Salesforce integration license
  - Give the integration user access to the [objects and fields Gong needs access to](/v1/docs/salesforce-fields-the-integration-user-needs-access-to)
  - **API Enabled**: In the System permissions of the profile or permission set, ensure the integration user has **API Enabled** checked. This enables Gong to check API limits and avoid generating requests that go over the API rate limit
