The steps you take depend on which Enable features each team member needs. ## Step 1: Check your Enable seats Make sure your company has Enable Essentials or Enable seats to assign, and decide which team members need them. The seat type and permissions each person needs depend on their role. **To check your seats:** 1. From the left sidebar, click **Admin center**. 2. In the **Settings** tab, click **General settings** under the **Company** card. 3. Select **Licenses and Seats**, and check the application seat summary. If you can’t confirm that your company has these seats, contact your Gong account team. ## Step 2: Assign Enable seats Each team member who needs Enable features must have a seat assigned. The seat type determines what they can access. | Seat | Who needs it | What it gives access to | | --- | --- | --- | | Enable Essentials | Coaches, managers, leaders, scorecard and training builders. | Coaching inbox, scoring calls, Coaching metrics, Initiatives, scorecard and training management. | | Enable | AI Trainer trainees and builders. | Everything in Enable Essentials, plus AI Trainer practice and training management. | > [!NOTE] > Note: > > AI Trainer trainees need an Enable seat, an assigned training, and Coaching page access to open their trainings from **Coaching > My trainings**. Builders need an Enable seat and the permissions required to create and manage trainings. **To assign a seat:** 1. From the left sidebar, click **Admin center**. 2. In the **Settings** tab, click **Team members** under the **People** card. 3. Select the team member you want to update. 4. Under **Seats**, assign the relevant Enable seat. 5. Click **Save**. Repeat for each team member who needs access. ## Step 3: Configure permission profiles After assigning seats, update the relevant permission profiles to match each role. You only need to do this for team members who need Coaching page access, scoring permissions, or builder tools. AI Trainer trainees only need Coaching page access. The table below shows which permissions to configure by role. | Role | Coaching page access | Coaching stats scope | Score calls | Manage Scorecards and Trainings | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Coach / frontline manager | Required | People who report to them, or selected teams | Required | Optional | | Senior manager / RevOps leader | Required | All, or their manager's teams | Optional | Optional | | Scorecard / training builder | Required | Optional | Optional | Required | | AI Trainer trainee | Required | No changes needed | No changes needed | No changes needed | **To update a permission profile:** 1. From the left sidebar, click **Admin center**. 2. In the **Settings** tab, click **Permission profiles** under the **People** card. 3. Select the profile assigned to the team members you want to update. 4. In the **Pages** section, enable **Coaching**. Coaching requires an Enable Essentials seat to take effect. 5. In the **Coaching stats** section, set the appropriate scope based on the team member's role. 6. (Optional) Under **Call and email actions**, enable **Score calls** to let them score calls manually. 7. (Optional) Under **Business settings**, enable **Manage Scorecards and Trainings** to let them build and manage scorecards and trainings. 8. Click **Save**. > [!NOTE] > Note: > > If multiple team members share the same permission profile, changes apply to all of them. Create a separate profile if different roles need different configurations. Ask the team member to go to **Coaching** in the left sidebar and select **Coaching inbox**. 2. Check what they see: - **Coaching inbox loads:** Access is configured correctly. - **They see an upgrade prompt or are redirected:** The seat is missing or the Coaching page access permission is not enabled in their profile. Learn more about [troubleshooting Enable access issues](/v1/docs/troubleshoot-enable-access-issues). - **The Coaching inbox loads but shows no data:** Check the coaching stats scope in their permission profile. It may be set to a scope that returns no results for their team. ## Frequently asked questions ****What's the difference between Coaching page access and coaching stats scope?**** Coaching page access controls whether the team member can see the Coaching area at all. Coaching stats scope controls whose data they see within it, for example only their direct reports or everyone in the company. Both must be configured for the Coaching inbox to load with useful data. ****What happens if a team member navigates to an Enable feature without a seat?**** Gong redirects them to an access request page. They won't see an error message. If a team member reports they can't find a feature, the first thing to check is whether their seat is assigned. ****Can I assign seats to multiple team members at once?**** Yes, for team members on the same team. **To assign Enable seats to a team:** 1. From the left sidebar, click **Admin center**. 2. In the **Settings** tab, click **Team members** under the **People** card. 3. Hover over the team manager's name and click **Edit [name]'s team**. 4. Under **Seats**, set the Enable seat to **On**. 5. (Optional) To update only team members who don't manage anyone, select the **Individual contributors only** checkbox. 6. Click **Save**.
