## Who’s it for

Sales development and sales teams.

## What they’ll get

Visual insights into pipeline building efforts as a baseline for driving growth and identifying key opportunities. The dashboard should be viewed weekly to determine where the pipeline is coming from and where efforts to close gaps should be focused.

## What you need

To build this dashboard, you’ll need the following:

- [Preset metrics](/v1/docs/customize-your-preset-metrics):
  - Pipeline created ($)
  - Pipeline created (#)
- [Custom metrics](/v1/docs/build-your-own-metrics):
  - Pipeline created - Source X ($). For example:
    - Pipeline created - Inbound
    - Pipeline created - Outbound
    - Pipeline created - by AEs
- [Targets](/v1/docs/managing-targets)
  - Pipeline created
- 1 pipeline generation [deal board](/v1/docs/set-up-create-a-deal-board).

## How to build it

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:**
>
> This procedure requires [permission](/v1/docs/revenue-analytics-permissions) to manage revenue analytics

The easiest way to build this dashboard is by [generating it from a template](/v1/docs/building-dashboards-1). If you prefer building it on your own, here’s how:

1. Build [KPI widgets](/v1/docs/kpi-widget):
  1. **Total pipe created**:

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(472).png)
    1. Base the widget on a single metric - **Pipeline created ($),**measured against its target - **Pipeline created**.
    2. Set the date (created date) and team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
  2. **Any number of pipe created by source widgets**:
    1. Base each widget on a single metric - **Pipe created - Source name.**
    2. Set the date (created date) and team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Optional: If your company has targets per source, you can measure each metric against its equivalent target.
2. Build a [performance widgets](/v1/docs/performance-widget) - **Pipeline creation by team and source**:

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(473).png)
  1. Add your metrics to your widget - **Pipeline created ($)**, and all **Pipe created by source metrics,**and optionally measure them against their targets.
  2. Color code the value ranges. For metrics measured against targets, the colors apply to the attainment value.
3. Build 2 [custom charts](/v1/docs/custom-chart) - **Pipeline created ($) performance over time**and **Pipeline created (#) performance over time:**

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(476).png)
  1. Base one chart on **Pipeline created ($)** and the other on **Pipeline created (#)**. In both widgets:
    1. [Filter](/v1/docs/filtering-metric-deals) the data to show deals of the last six months.
    2. Set the team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Break down the data by month.

1. Build 4 [custom charts](/v1/docs/custom-chart):
  1. **Pipeline created ($) by team and source:**

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(478).png)
    1. Base the widgets on **Pipeline created ($).**
    2. Set the date (created date) and team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Break down the data by team and source.
  2. **Pipeline created ($) by region and source:**

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(481).png)
    1. Base the widgets on **Pipeline created ($).**
    2. Set the date (created date) and team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Break down the data by region and source.
  3. **Pipeline created (#) by team and source:**

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(479).png)
    1. Base the widgets on **Pipeline created (#).**
    2. Set the date (created date) and team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Break down the data by team and source.
  4. **Pipeline created (#) by region and source.**

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(482).png)
    1. Base the widgets on **Pipeline created (#).**
    2. Set the date (created date) and team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Break down the data by region and source.
2. Build 2 [custom charts](/v1/docs/custom-chart):

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(483).png)
  1. **Pipeline created ($)** **by stage**:
    1. Base the widgets on **Pipeline created ($).**
    2. Set the date (created date) and team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Break down the data by stage.
  2. **Pipeline created (#)** **by stage**:
    1. Base the widgets on **Pipeline created (#).**
    2. Set the date (created date) and team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Break down the data by stage.
3. Build 2 [custom charts](/v1/docs/custom-chart):

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(484).png)
  1. **Pipeline created ($) performance lookback**:
    1. Base the widgets on **Pipeline created ($).**
    2. Set the team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Filter deals by period - last 4 fiscal Qs and the current fiscal Q.
    4. Break down the data by date and source.
  2. **Pipeline created (#) performance lookback**:
    1.
      1. Base the widgets on **Pipeline created (#).**
      2. Set the team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
      3. Filter deals by period - last 4 fiscal Qs and the current fiscal Q.
      4. Break down the data by date and source.
4. Build 2 [deals widgets](/v1/docs/deals-widget):

![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/image(485).png)
  1. **Highest value deals created this period**:
    1. Base the widget on a **new businesses**tab from a **pipeline generation**deal board.
    2. Set the date (created date) and team member (owner) to be taken from the dashboard.
    3. Sort the table by amount (descending).
  2. **Open deals created this period:**
