# Migrating from Salesloft

Gong offers the ability to migrate all templates and flows (also known as “sequences” or “cadences” in other platforms) from Salesloft to Engage.

Migration is a paid service provided by Gong. To initiate the process, contact your Gong Account Manager.

Gong also offers the ability to migrate content from Outreach.

## How migration works

There are two main parts of the migration process:

1. **Connecting Salesloft to Engage:** We need API keys to connect the two platforms. You can either provide temporary admin access or share the API keys.
2. **Choosing what to migrate:** Migration is a good opportunity to clean out old templates and cadences. Gong distinguishes between:

To migrate company templates and cadences, create a tag in Salesloft called **migrate for company availability** and apply it to the templates and cadences you want available to everyone in Gong.
  - **Personal flows**: Available only to their owner. Gong migrates all active personal templates and cadences from Salesloft and assigns them to their owners in Gong.
  - **Company flows**: Available to all users. Gong migrates only templates and cadences that are tagged.

### About the migration process

Important details to know before you begin:

- For company flows and templates, tag the ones you want to bring over and provide Gong with the tag name so we can import them.
- For personal flows, Gong imports them only if the owner in Salesloft has a matching user in Gong (detected via email matching).
- Flows and templates can be marked as active/inactive in Salesloft. Gong imports only **active** items.
- Not all Salesloft variables translate to Gong (for example, conditional variables). Review your content after import.
- You can migrate your Salesloft snippets into Gong blocks.

> Only “Team Cadences” from Salesloft can become “Company Flows” in Gong, and only “Team Templates” from Salesloft can become “Company Templates” in Gong.
