# Manual association

Gong associates conversations (emails, calls) with contacts, accounts, and deals in your CRM based on your [association settings](/v1/docs/associate-your-crm-entities-with-gong-activities). However, in some cases, your reps may want to manually associate a conversation with a different account or deal.

When you manually associate a call to a deal, you override all current and future associations on the activity. This means that Gong won't change the association when new information comes in, such as a new contact role, new opportunity, and so on.

## Where can I associate manually?

Calls can be associated in activity timelines (found in the account console, the Deals Pipeline tab, and more), as well as in call pages. For details on how to manually associate calls, see [Associate a call to an account or opportunity](/v1/docs/associate-a-call-to-an-account-or-opportunity)

If the activity is already associated to other deals, their association is not affected; the activity is associated with existing deals and the one it was added to.
