# Manage emails in deals and accounts

> **Who can use this**: Any team member
>
> **Available on**: Any Gong plan

Gong imports all emails you send to, or receive from your CRM contacts. You may find an email in a deal or account that you didn’t expect to find there, or don’t want any emails from that contact imported into Gong. Here are a few ways you can manage it.

## Remove an email from a deal

> **Where to go:**Revenue > Deals > Deal panel

Here’s how you can remove an email from a deal, but not from the account:

1. From the Activity tab, select the email you want to remove.
2. Click ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/More_DS.png) and select **Remove from deal**.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note**:
>
> Removing an email from a deal depends on your [permission profile](/v1/docs/available-permission-settings).

3. You’ll be asked to confirm by clicking **REMOVE**.

## Remove an email from an account

> **Where to go:**Account console

You can remove the email from the account, which will delete it completely from Gong. Here’s how:

> [!NOTE]
> **Note**:
>
> You can only delete an email from an account that you’re associated with.

1. Click **Review account** to open the account page.
2. Find the email you want to remove.
3. Click ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/More_DS.png) and select **Delete this email**.

4. If you have permission to delete the email, you’ll be asked to confirm. The email is removed from the account. This action can't be undone.

Once deleted, the email message ID is listed on an exclude list and is removed from all places in Gong and never reimported. For example, if two users received the email, it’s deleted from both instances.

## Add an email to your Do-not-import list

> **Where to go:**Revenue > Deals > Deal panel

In some cases, emails between a specific team member and a CRM contact or lead shouldn’t be imported to Gong. To prevent these emails being in Gong, each team member has their own Do-not-import list.

Existing emails between the team member and someone in their Do-not-import list are removed from Gong and new emails aren’t imported to Gong. Emails with multiple participants from your company may still be imported to Gong from their mailbox.

You can add someone to your Do-not-import list from two places:

1. Either:
  1. Go to the Activity tab.
  2. *Or* click Review account to open the account console.
2. Select the email with the participant you want to add to the list.
3. Click ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/More_DS.png) and select **Add to Do-not-import list**.

From **Activity tab**:

From **Account console**:

4. You’ll be asked to confirm by clicking **Add to Do-not-import list**.
5. If there is more than one person on the email, choose whether to add everyone to the Do-not-import list or only specific participants.
