# Generate a follow-up email

Follow-up quickly with customers and colleagues by generating follow-up emails directly from the call page. Choose the email variation that’s right for your needs.

1. Go to the call page and click **Generate follow-up email,** or locate the call on the homepage or search page, click ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/More_DS.png), and then click Generate follow-up email.
2. This generates a follow-up email that includes an AI-generated summary and a link to the call recording. Choose from up to three variations:
  1. **General summary:**Includes a full background and next steps. Ideal for first-time follow-up.
  2. **Action-oriented:**Includes a brief background and next steps. Ideal for established relationships.
  3. **Detailed summary:**Includes key updates, decisions, and next steps. 3. Copy and paste the text into your preferred channel and edit as you like.

#### Considerations

- For calls with customers, access to the call recording is based on your most recent settings for [sharing calls with customers](/v1/docs/share-a-call).
- Follow-up emails are generated in the same language as the call. For non-English calls, you have the option to generate the email in English.
- If you're using Engage, the generated email will open in the [Gong email composer](/v1/docs/manage-your-emails-from-gong).

Any team member can access this feature if they have the required permissions.
