# Funnel widget

## What’s a funnel widget

Funnel widgets give team members a comprehensive view of how their deals progress through various stages of their sales process/es, so they can identify bottlenecks in the sales process, understand where and why they're losing potential sales, and adjust their sales strategies accordingly.

## Building a funnel widget

**To build a new funnel widget:**

1. Select your dashboard, click **+New widget**, and select **Funnel** from the gallery.

1. In the dashboard header, click to rename your widget and, optionally, **+ Add description**.
2. Under **CRM data:**
  1. Under **Amount** **field**,****select the CRM field from which deal amounts are derived. For example: Exit ARR.
  2. Under **Team member field**, select the CRM role associated with deals included in the widget. For example: Owner.
3. Under **Date field**, select the date field from which periods are derived. For example: Close date.
4. If you want to set some [filters](/v1/docs/filtering-metric-deals) so only certain types of deals qualify to be included in the widget, under **Filters,**click**+Add**and set the criteria. For example: deal amount is greater than 30,000.

> Note:
> 
> Funnel widgets created before August 2025 now support additional filtering options and multi currency. A **New setup available** indicator appears on each widget until it’s resaved.

5. Under **Funnel steps by stage**, choose the **CRM sales stages**(for example: Inquiry, Negotiation) to include in the widget.
6. Under **Team and period**, you’ll notice the team member and date fields are set to be dynamic and respond to whatever is selected in your dashboard. You can change them to fixed values.

> Note:
> 
> If you select fixed values for the team member and period, the widget would no longer respond to selections made on the dashboard level.

1. Select your drilldown view: the deal board that opens up when team members click to inspect the deals included in the widget.
2. When you’re happy with the preview result on the right, click Save.
3. See how the widget [would look like](/v1/docs/viewing-the-funnel-widget)for other team members.

## Best practices

****Be mindful of the selected stages****

We allow selecting stages of different sales processes but advise you to be mindful when you do it, as it may affect widget output. Validate your selection and verify the stages make sense when put together in a single funnel widget.
