# Forecasting FAQs

This article answers frequently asked questions related to [forecasting in Gong](/v1/docs/how-to-forecast-1).

****What’s the difference between deal boards and forecast boards?****

Deal boards are used for pipeline reviews, while forecast boards are used for submitting your forecast; however, when you forecast, you can drill into the deals included in any forecast column from the forecast board to make a more confident decision.

****Why can’t I see any board in the Forecast tab?****

If you're not seeing any board, your business admin hasn’t set it up yet.

****How do I switch between forecast boards, teams, and periods?****

At the top of the **Forecast page**, select the forecast board, team, and period you’re forecasting for.

****Who can submit their forecast in Gong?****

If your tech admin has assigned you with a [Forecast seat and the relevant permissions](/v1/docs/configurable-forecast-article#permission-to-forecast-in-gong), you can forecast in Gong.

****How do I know when it’s time to forecast?****

Your forecast cadence is set by your business admin. Typically, this is set to once a week. You’re notified when it’s time to submit your forecast.

****Can other people view and submit my forecast numbers?****

The ability to see and submit forecast numbers for other people is enabled by [permission profile](/v1/docs/configurable-forecast-article#permission-to-forecast-in-gong). Usually, reps are assigned with permission to submit their own numbers and managers to adjust and submit their direct reports numbers.

****How does Gong know who’s on my team?****

The org hierarchy is taken from the org tree known to Gong, which is also shown in **Admin center** > **Team members**. If there are any issues with the hierarchy, contact your tech admin.

****Why are there two rows for my numbers?****

The board's top row represents your team’s forecast, and the bottom row is where you can submit your own numbers.

****How can I export my team’s forecast?****

You can download a CSV file of the current forecast view:
