# Find and organize conversations

> **Who can use this**: Any team member
>
> **Available on**: Any Gong plan

Gong's conversation library makes it easy to organize, collect and discover important calls using filters, for example by participant, topic, or deal stage. There are two types available, your library – where you can keep your own folders and streams, and the Gong library. The Gong library enables you to build institutional knowledge, with saved best practices, objection handling, and demos for future reference.

Create a stream to get notified when key conversations happen, making it simple to share calls and see how your team engages with them.

This quick start guide shows you how to:

- Search for a call
- Collect calls by setting up streams
- Create and access folders

### Search for a call

Gong's search uses 100+ filters to help you find specific conversations quickly. [Search to locate calls](/v1/docs/search-for-calls) for coaching, deal preparation, or competitive analysis.

1. Go to **Conversations** > **Search**.

2. Use the default filters displayed:
  - **Call participants**: Find calls with specific team members or customers.
  - **Account name**: Search by account name from your CRM.
  - **Words or phrases**: Find calls containing specific language.
  - **Trackers**: Locate calls with [trackers](/v1/docs/understanding-trackers).
  - **Call title**: Search for meeting title.
3. Click **+Add filters** to add or remove certain filters, followed by **APPLY.**
4. Results will appear automatically as you make your choices.
5. Click any call to open up the [call page](/v1/docs/intro-to-the-call-page).

### Set up a stream

[Streams](/v1/docs/create-and-manage-streams) automatically collect calls that match your criteria, notifying you when new ones are added. Use streams to stay informed about competitor mentions, deal progression, or team performance patterns.

1. Go to **Conversations** > **Search** and use filters to find the types of calls you want to collect.
2. Click **Create stream** at the top of the page.

3. Configure the stream settings:
  1. **General**: Give your stream a name and choose where to save it.
  2. **Filters**: Review the selected search filters.
  3. **Notifications**: Set up Slack and email notifications(optional).
  4. **Stream type**: Choose between **Standard** (All calls shown to everyone) or **Personalized** (Each person sees only their calls and those of their teammates).
4. Click **Create stream** to activate your stream.

### Create and access folders

[Folders](/v1/docs/create-and-manage-folders) help you organize calls and snippets by topic, team, or purpose. Gong provides two library types with different access levels and use cases:

**Your library** contains:

- Folders you create
- Folders shared with you
- Private or team-specific content
- Saving calls in library folders doesn't change access to the calls.

**Company library** contains:

- Organization-wide folders
- Training and onboarding materials
- Content managed by company-wide teams, such as enablement
- Folders accessible to all teams

#### Create a folder from the library

1. Go to **Conversations** > **Your library**or **Company library**.

![Gong platform interface showing library section with a new folder option highlighted.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/Create a folder.png)
2. Click **+NEW** and choose **Folder**, or click **+** beside an existing folder to create a subfolder.
3. Name your folder and select where to place it.
  - Share with others (optional):
  - Check **I want to share with other members**, then **NEXT**.
  - Select team members and add a message.
4. Click **SHARE FOLDER**.
5. Click **CREATE** to finish.

Any team member can access this feature if they have the required permissions.

Access to this feature depends on your [assigned seat](/v1/docs/plans-and-seats).
