# Download a call or snippet

Download call recordings, either as video or audio files, so you can view them offline or share them with colleagues. The ability to download calls is set in your permissions. If you don’t see it and think you should, [contact your tech admin](/v1/docs/find-your-technical-or-business-admin).

Call transcripts may contain sensitive business information or personal data. When downloading transcripts ensure that any personal information is kept confidential. If you want AI-generated insights, summaries, or follow-up content for a call, use Gong Assistant instead of uploading transcripts to external AI tools.

## Download a call

**To download a call:**

1. Go to the [call page](/v1/docs/intro-to-the-call-page), click![Button____1_.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/25210139834509.png) in the top right corner, select **Download**, and then select **Audio**or **Video**.
2. In the dialog that opens, confirm that you want to download the file.

## Download a call snippet

**To download a call snippet:**

1. Open the call page ![sissor](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/sissor.png) under the call screen.
2. Yellow bars will appear on the timeline below the call screen. Move them to the part of the call you want to select. This part is highlighted in the transcript also, where it’s anchored by pointers, and the selection is synchronized as you drag either the yellow bars or the pointers.
3. In the action menu that opens, choose **Download snippet**. The file will be downloaded as a video.

Downloading may take a few moments, since we need to prepare the snippet before it is downloaded. Before this happnes, you'll be warned that the file may contain personal information subject to various data protection regulations. Please make sure that any personal information in the file is kept confidential.

Any team member can access this feature if they have the required permissions.
