# Dialpad and Dialpad (SMS)

## Prerequisites

Your Gong users must meet the Dialpad requirements for calls to be recorded.

Dialpad automatically records calls made from mainline, department, call center and individual direct lines when the line owner has a Dialpad Sell license and belongs to a coaching team (available on Pro and Enterprise plans).

This table lists recording types and whether they can be recorded for Gong:

## Set up Dialpad

1. Get a Token from Dialpad:
  - Submit a ticket to Dialpad Support saying that you are a Gong customer and require API access
2. Click **Company settings** > **Data capture** > **Telephony systems**.
3. Click **+ Add telephony system**and select **Dialpad**.
4. Enter the **Token**.
5. Select **Import calls only for call participants defined in your CRM**to only import calls with known CRM contacts to Gong.
6. Click **CONNECT.**

## Set up Dialpad (SMS)

1. Go to **Admin center > Settings** > **Data capture** > **Telephony systems**.
2. Click **+ Add telephony system** and select **Dialpad (SMS)**.
3. Get an [API token](https://developers.dialpad.com/docs/api-key-generation) from Dialpad support.
4. Click **CONNECT**.

## Supported dialer features

| Import past calls | When setting up the integration, automatically imports the last 90 days of calls. If you add or change a user, Gong only imports calls made in the previous 30 days. | Yes |

| User matching | The field in the call used to match the Gong user to the dialer user | Full name and Email |
| Speaker experience | Indicates if the call is recorded using stereo or mono | Mono |
