# Create and manage streams

> **Who can use this**: Business admin
>
> **Available on**: Gong Foundation
>
> **Ideal for**: Sales rep, Sales manager

> **Where to go:**Conversations > Search

Automatically collect calls that are important to you and your team with streams. Set the types of calls you want to collect using filters, enable notifications via Slack or email, and add team members or teams, so you all get notified when important new calls happen.

## Create a stream from the search page

1. Go to **Conversations > Search**.
2. In the filter panel on the left, search for calls using at least one filter.
3. Click **Create stream**at the top of the page. This button only appears after you’ve filtered for calls.
4. In the **General**section:****Give the stream a name and choose where to save it. By default, streams created from the search page will be saved in your library, but you can choose a different folder if you want, or save it in the company library (depending on your permissions).
5. In the **Filters** section, you’ll see the filters you used in your search. After the stream is saved, you’ll be able to edit them by [editing the stream](/v1/docs/create-and-manage-streams#edit-a-stream).

> [!NOTE]
> Note:
>
> If you filter the stream by AI trackers and the tracker isn’t activated or there aren’t enough credits, calls won’t be added to the stream.
6. In the **Brief**section, choose the brief type you want displayed in stream results and immediate notifications. The **Highlights**brief type is selected by default, but you can choose from any of your company’s call brief types.

> [!TIP]
> **Tip:**
>
> If the Highlights brief type is selected, you’ll be able to choose which sections you want to display. For all other brief types, all sections are displayed.
7. In **Microsoft Teams notifications**, select the team and channel that will be notified when a call is added to the stream. Only available if your company set up the Gong notifications app for Microsoft Teams.
  1. Select which AI summaries you want to display in the Microsoft Teams notification:
    - **Recap**: A short summary of the call
    - **Key points**: A bullet list of the call’s main points
    - **Next steps**: Action items form both sides of the conversation
8. In the **Slack notifications**section, select a Slack channel. If it’s a private Slack channel, make sure [Gong is invited to the channel](/v1/docs/faqs-about-the-slack-integration).

> [!NOTE]
> Note:
>
> For Slack notifications to be possible, your company must be connected to Slack, and the stream must be set to standard, not personalized.

Choose which AI summaries you want to display in the Slack notification.
  - **Call brief:**1-paragraph summary of the call****
  - **Key points:** 10-bullet list of main call points
  - **Next steps:**Action items from both sides of the conversation
  - **Smart trackers:**If the stream has smart tracker filters, choose whether you want to see a summary of the smart tracker mentions, or a transcript of the relevant snippets. If the stream already has calls in it, you’ll be able to test how these summaries look in the Slack notification by clicking **Test on Slack**.
9. In the **Share and set email notifications**section, share the stream with other people at your company, subscriber them to email notifications, and set the notification cadence.
10. In the **Stream type**section, set whether the stream is standard or personalized.
  - **Standard** All calls are shown to everyone viewing the stream. This is required if you want to enable Slack notifications for the stream, and preferred when building a stream in the company library, so that everyone visiting the library can see all of its calls.
  - **Personalized** Each person who is subscribed to the stream only sees the calls owned by them or their team.
11. Save the stream.

Preset streams are already collecting calls for you. You can edit them by adding or removing filters. Subscribe to them and you'll be notified about new calls.

- **Deal streams** collect calls relating to deal stages:
  - Stage: Closed lost
  - Stage: Closed Won-Rollover
  - Stage: Discover

- The **Economic pulse (by Gong) stream** collects calls where customers discuss the economy. For example, when customers mention layoffs, recession, inflation, market dynamics or similar. These terms are defined in the [Economic pulse (by Gong) tracker](/v1/docs/trackers-overview). Managers are automatically subscribed to the Economic Pulse (by Gong) stream, which means they get a weekly mail with calls hosted by members on their team if the economy was discussed. Managers can unsubscribe directly from the mail, or from the [My Notifications](/v1/docs/my-notifications) page.

> [!NOTE]
> Note:
>
> The mail is sent to managers based on the team hierarchy defined when they were added as Gong team members.
