# Create a rule to set calls as private

> **Who can use this**: Tech admin
>
> **Available on**: Any Gong plan

> **Where to go:**Admin center > Settings > Ecosystem > Automation rules

Create a rule to set calls as private. When the rule is triggered, Gong will automatically set new calls that match the rule’s filter as private. The rule isn’t applied to existing calls.

Once a call is set as private, the call host can make it public. [Learn more about private calls in Gong](/v1/docs/set-a-call-as-private)
