To make these tools available in Agentforce, create a Gong MCP integration, register the Gong MCP server in Salesforce, configure authentication, and add the Gong tools to Agentforce. ## Before you begin Before connecting Salesforce Agentforce to the Gong MCP server, make sure: - You are a Gong tech admin and can create API integrations. - You are a Salesforce administrator and can configure MCP servers and authentication settings. - The email address of your Gong user matches the email address of your Salesforce user. ## Step 1: Create a Gong MCP integration Create an MCP integration in Gong that Salesforce will use to authenticate with the Gong MCP server. **To create a Gong MCP integration:** 1. See [Create an integration to connect to the MCP server](/v1/docs/create-an-integration-to-connect-to-the-mcp-server) to define the integration in Gong. 2. In the create integration page, under **Authorization Context,** select **Personal access**. 3. In the **Redirect URI field**, enter: https://login.salesforce.com/services/extidp/callback > [!NOTE] > **Note:** > > Salesforce generates the final Redirect URI later in this procedure. You will update this value after creating the External Auth Identity Provider. The MCP integration is created and can be used to authenticate Salesforce. ## Step 2: Register the Gong MCP server in Salesforce Create an MCP server registration in Salesforce and configure the initial connection settings. **To register the Gong MCP server:** 1. In Salesforce, navigate to **Setup** > **Agentforce** > **MCP Servers**. 2. Click **New**, and select **MCP Server Registration**. 3. Enter a **name** and **description** for the MCP server. 4. In the **Server URL** field, enter: https://slartabartfast-a82d23b75f77.herokuapp.com/mcp 5. Under **Authentication Method,** select **No Authentication**. > [!NOTE] > **Note:** > > You will configure authentication later in this procedure. 6. Click **Save**. The MCP server registration appears in the registrations list. ## Step 3: Update the Named Credential Update the Named Credential created by Salesforce so it points to the Gong MCP server endpoint. **To update the Named Credential:** 1. Open the MCP server registration you created in the previous step. 2. In the details page, click the associated Named Credential. 3. Click **Edit** and replace the **URL** with: [https://mcp.gong.io/mcp](https://mcp.gong.io/mcp) 4. Click Save. The Named Credential now points to the Gong MCP server endpoint. ## Step 4: Create an External Auth Identity Provider Create an External Auth Identity Provider that Salesforce will use to authenticate with Gong. **To create an External Auth Identity Provider:** 1. In Salesforce, navigate to Setup > Named Credentials. 2. Click New. 4. Enter a label, name, and description. 5. Under **Authentication Protocol**, select OAuth 2.0. 6. Under **Authorization Flow Type**, select Authorization Code (Browser Flow). 7. Copy the **Client ID** and **Client Secret** from the MCP integration you [set up](/v1/docs/connect-salesforce-agentforce-to-the-gong-mcp-server#step-1-create-a-gong-mcp-integration) in Gong and enter them in Salesforce. 8. In the **Authorize Endpoint URL** field, enter: https://app.gong.io/oauth2/authorize 9. In the **Token Endpoint URL** field, enter: https://app.gong.io/oauth2/generate-mcp-token 10. Click Save. After the Identity Provider is saved, Salesforce generates a Callback URL. 1. Copy the Callback URL from the Identity Provider URLs section. 2. Return to the Gong MCP integration created in Step 1. 3. Replace the temporary Redirect URI with the Callback URL generated by Salesforce. 4. Save the integration. The External Auth Identity Provider is configured and linked to the Gong MCP integration. ## Step 5: Configure External Credentials and authenticate the connection Configure the External Credential created by Salesforce and authenticate the connection to Gong. **To configure External Credentials and authenticate the connection:** 1. In Salesforce, navigate to **Setup** > **Named Credentials**. 2. Open the External Credential that was created automatically when the MCP server was registered and click **Edit**. 4. Under **Authentication Protocol**, select OAuth 2.0. 5. Under **Authentication Flow Type**, select Browser Flow. 6. Leave **Scope** empty 7. Under **Identity Provider**, select External Auth Identity Provider and select the external auth identity provider you created above. 8. Click **Save**. 9. Scroll to the **Principals** section. 10. In the **Actions** column, select **Authenticate**. 11. Complete the authentication flow. The Salesforce connection is authenticated and can access the Gong MCP server. ## Step 6: Add Gong tools to Agentforce Add the Gong MCP tools so they can be used by Agentforce agents. **To add Gong tools to Agentforce:** 1. In Salesforce go to **Setup** > **Agentforce** > **MCP Servers** and select the MCP server you created. 2. Select the **Tools** tab and click **Manage Tools**. 3. Add the Gong tools you want to make available in Agentforce. 4. Click **Save**. The Gong MCP tools are available in Agentforce and appear in Agentforce Assets. You can now add them to Agentforce agents. A team member who manages and configures the Gong platform and handles CRM integrations, user provisioning, permissions, and system settings.
