# Associate a call to an account or opportunity

Calls that are associated to accounts or opportunities are displayed in the activity timeline of the Deals and Account console. Typically, calls are automatically associated with the correct account or opportunity, but if a call is imported or incorrectly associated (perhaps because the contact has multiple email addresses, or because a single account has multiple opportunities), you can manually associate it to the correct account via the call page.

> **Note:**
> 
> - Calls can't be associated to leads or call participants.
> - Once you manually associate calls, the call will no longer be updated with new information. For example, if a CRM contact is only defined for one of the call participants after the call is manually associated, that contact won’t be associated with the call.

## Associate an unassociated call

**To associate an unassociated call:**

1. Click ![Button____1_.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/24879089438989.png) in the top right corner of the [call page](/v1/docs/intro-to-the-call-page), and select **Manually associate call**.
2. Select the **Account** and **Opportunity** you want to associate the call with. Hover over the account or opportunity to see their CRM details.
3. Click **+ Add association** to associate the call with multiple accounts or opportunities.
4. Click **Update**. The association may take up to one hour to show up in Gong.

## Change a call's association from the call page

You can change the call association from the call page.

**To change the existing association from the call page:**

1. Click ![Button____1_.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/24879089438989.png) in the top right corner of the [call page](/v1/docs/intro-to-the-call-page), and select **Manually associate call**.
2. In the dialog that opens, click **X**to remove the account or opportunity the call is associated with.
3. Click **+ Add association** to associate the call with other accounts or opportunities.
4. Click **Update**.

## Remove a call's association from the Deal page

You can remove the call association from the Deal page.

**To remove the existing association from the Deal page:**

1. From the left sidebar, click **Revenue**and select **Deals**.
2. Select the deal the call is associated with.
3. In the panel that opens, click **Activity**to open the activity timeline.
4. Scroll down to the call and click the **More actions** icon ![Action Menu.svg](https://cdn.us.document360.io/2837c190-3ec8-4120-9116-6d427e774667/Images/Documentation/MoreActions.svg).
5. Select **Remove from deal**. The call is no longer associated with the deal.

Any team member can access this feature if they have the required permissions.
