How to get accurate and useful answers

The questions you ask via Ask anything are known as prompts. Prompts are the instructions you give AI, how you tell it what you want it to do. The better the prompt, the faster you get the information that you want.

Below are some tips for writing prompts that will get you useful and accurate answers. Following this are some examples that you can tweak to get the answers you need to get your job done, quickly.

Best practices for writing prompts

  1. Write clear, specific, and rich instructions. The more specific your questions are, the more accurate your answers will be. For example, instead of writing “What was their main problem?” try writing something like “I want to make it easier for the customer to succeed with our product. What’s their biggest problem? Give me the answer is concise bullet form.”

  2. Only ask questions about the content of the call. All of the answers you get via the Ask anything tab are based on the call transcript. If you ask something that wasn’t mentioned in the call, we won’t be able to give you an answer.

  3. Phrase your question as though you are speaking to a person. Even though AI isn’t human, using natural language helps it “better understand” your question so it provides a more accurate response.

  4. Define the format of the answer you want. Bullet form, email style, up to 300 words, less than 100 words. Give instructions about what format you want to receive answers, and that's what you'll get.

  5. Practice makes perfect. Try using different words and phrases in your questions. It usually takes a few tries to get the answers you’re looking for, so be patient and creative.

Examples to get you started

Here are some prompt examples to help you come up with some of your own. Customize them to suit your specific call.

  • What did the customer say about the price of our offer?

  • Please summarize all of the customer’s objections and provide the answer in bullet form.

  • When is the next scheduled meeting?

  • Summarize and put in bullet form the business pain points brought up by the customer.

  • Was specific pricing discussed?

  • How could the sales team do better on this call?

  • Please give me a summary of items that the customer preferred about our product over other products.

  • Create a bulleted list of what the customer preferred about our product. Create a separate bulleted list of what they prefer about competitor’s products. Make sure to include the names of any competitors that the customer mentioned.

  • Based on what the customer said, recap the current and desired state of customer success. Format the recap in 4 bullets for each state.

  • Generate a follow-up email thanking the customer for their time, and emphasizing next steps. Provide the next steps in bullet form.
