Gong Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables AI systems to work across Gong and external platforms. Gong MCP includes both a client and a server. The MCP client allows Gong AI agents, such as AI Briefer, to use data from external systems. The MCP server allows external AI agents, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot, to access Gong insights. Together, these capabilities enable AI to combine Gong data with external data and make Gong insights available directly within external workflows.

## Gong MCP client capabilities

The Gong MCP client allows Gong AI agents to connect to external MCP servers. This capability enables Gong business administrators to integrate external data and workflows from partner systems, such as CRMs, to significantly enrich Gong's AI output.

The MCP client is used in Gong features such as AI Briefer.

## Gong MCP server capabilities

The Gong MCP server allows external AI systems to access Gong insights.

External AI agents can:

- Ask questions about accounts and deals
- Generate summaries
- Retrieve AI-generated insights

This allows Gong insights to be used directly within external AI workflows.
